RULES & ETIQUETTE

GO Darts is an online darts league that values competition and sportsmanship. While we offer prize money, our core focus is on enjoyment, camaraderie, and fair play. If winning at all costs is your only priority, or if losing leaves you bitter, this may not be the right league for you.

To ensure a great experience for all, please follow these rules:

RULE ONE: SPORTSMANSHIP

  1. Keep things positive—good sportsmanship enhances the experience.

  2. Encourage, support, and assist fellow players.

  3. Treat players and admins with respect.

  4. Avoid harassment, abuse, or unsporting behaviour.

  5. Keep language civil—no insults or personal attacks.

  6. Violations may result in removal from the league.

RULE TWO: FIXTURES

  1. Follow the match schedule posted on the competition webpage.

  2. Arrange your match with your opponent on Discord.

  3. Reschedule matches only by mutual agreement.

  4. Post the agreed match time in the diary channel on Discord.

  5. Arrive on time—if a player is 15+ minutes late, the opponent may claim a 1-0 win or reschedule.

  6. Give at least 30 minutes' notice for rescheduling—failure to do so allows the opponent to claim a 1-0 win.

  7. Players are expected to actively arrange their matches and respond to scheduling invitations. If a player does not attempt to schedule a match or fails to respond to an invitation, the opponent may record a 1–0 win.

  8. All matches should be played within the scheduled time frame. If a player misses three successive matches without contacting an admin, they will be removed from the league.

RULE THREE: CAMERAS

  1. Play all matches on camera via DartCounter or Discord. If using the DartCounter Omni system, the live camera should be on, not just the animation.

  2. Mount your camera at bull height, ensuring a stable, full-screen view.

  3. Confirm that your opponent's board is clearly visible before playing.

  4. Use audio if possible, though it is optional.

RULE FOUR: MATCHES

  1. Format: Check the comp format on the comp web page.

  2. Scoring: Use DartCounter for all games.

  3. Starting: Use the coin toss on DartCounter to see who throws first.

  4. Throwing:

    1. Set the timer to at least 60 seconds per throw.

    2. Move darts so that trebles and doubles can be seen before entering scores.

    3. Do not throw until your opponent has entered their score.

  5. Submitting: Post a screenshot of the final score in the Discord group chat and submit results using the provided link in the submit channel.

RULE FIVE: POINTS

  1. Scoring: Win = 2 points, Draw = 1 point, Loss = 0 points.

  2. Unavailable Opponent:

    • If an opponent is unavailable, the available player receives a 1-0 win.

    • If both players are available but at different times, a 0-0 draw is recorded.

    • Rescheduling is preferred over awarding points for unplayed games.

  3. Player Withdrawal: If a player drops out, all their matches are removed from the standings.

RULE SIX: WINNING

Winners are determined, by:

  • points awarded

  • greatest leg difference

  • most legs won

  • highest average.

RULE SEVEN: PROMOTION & RELEGATION (if applicable)

  1. Players are sorted into one of four leagues:

    1. The 30's League

    2. The 40's League

    3. The 50's League

    4. The 60's League

  2. Each league consists of multiple divisions of 10 players.

  3. At the end of each season, there is:

    1. Promotion
The top 2 players in each division are promoted to the next highest division for the following season. Promotion to a higher ability league (e.g., from the 40s League to the 50s League) will only occur if the player’s season average meets the minimum average required for that league. If the player’s average does not meet the threshold, they will instead be placed in the highest appropriate division within their current ability league.

    2. Relegation
The bottom 2 players in each division are relegated to the next lowest division for the following season. Relegation to a lower ability league will only occur if the player’s season average falls within the range of that lower league. If the player’s average is above the lower league’s range, they will remain in the lowest division of their current ability league.

    3. Ability Reclassification
After promotion and relegation have been applied, players whose season average falls outside the range of their current ability league will be reclassified. A player whose average exceeds the upper limit of their league will move to the appropriate higher league for the next season. A player whose average falls below the lower limit of their league will move to the appropriate lower league. This ensures players compete against opponents of similar ability.

  4. New players joining from The Newcomers League are placed in the division best corresponding to their GO Darts average.

  5. Adjustments may be necessary depending on the number of participants.

RULE EIGHT: CHEATING

  1. Follow all standard dart rules—any form of cheating results in removal from the league.

  2. How to prevent disputes:

    1. Arrange and play your matches on time.

    2. Ensure your camera provides a clear, stable image at bull height.

    3. Check your opponent’s camera quality before playing. If inadequate, request improvement or reschedule.

    4. Use audio where possible, to call out scores and discuss disputes.

    5. Set the DartCounter timer to 60 seconds for discussion time.

    6. Call out your score before removing darts. When scoring high or completing a leg, allow time for your opponent to see your darts.

    7. In case of a dispute, continue play and finish the match, then report the incident to an admin.

  3. Handling accusations:

    1. If no clear video evidence is available, both accuser and accused will be placed on The Watchlist.

    2. Repeated reports or accusations will be reviewed and may lead to bans from all competitions.

RULE NINE: MONEY

  1. Entry fees must be paid in full before a competition begins. Payments can be made in various currencies. If using PayPal, an additional 50p must be added to the entry fee.

  2. Once payment is made, no refunds will be issued to players who withdraw or are removed from the competition.

  3. If the number of registered players is not a multiple of the group size, players with the closest averages will be allocated available spots. Any players who do not secure a place will receive a full refund.

  4. Prize money will be paid via bank transfer. Alternatively, players may choose to keep their winnings as credit for future competitions.

FAIR PLAY!
